The
activities
At
the limit of the Aveyron (12) and the Tarn-et-Garonne (82)
regions, the Brunis' bed and breakfast and farm invite you
to discover the Causses and the Gorges de l’Aveyron,
Quercy and Rouergue.
Whether
you love the old stones or are a sportsman looking for thrills,
you will certainly find an activity that will suit you during
your stay in our region.
A
long and rich history
To
cite only two, amongst many, the villages of Bruniquel and
Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val symbolize a long and rich history.
It
was at Bruniquel that the Robert
Enrico film " Le
vieux fusil" was shot, uniting Philippe Noiret and Romy
Schneider. A room in the chateau has an exhibition of the
photos taken during the shooting of the film. Another room
has a permanent exhibition on the prehistory.
Overlooking the Aveyron, the Bruniquel chateau – whose
origin dates from the 6th century, according to the legend,
is today a condensed history of the different military architecture
during the centuries.
In the village, the Payrol house, typically middle-class architecture
of the 15th century, unites in five rooms the rich hours of
the local history, aswell as a collection of 300 objects.
Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val was created during the middle-ages:
and time, history and man have not erased the traces of this
village. In the fortified
village, the lovely houses of the 13th, 14th
and 15th centuries welcome the visiters in the lanes of Saint
Antonin, and testify to the economic wealth during this era.
Numerous country-houses are to be discovered during your peregrinations
in the areas of Montauban and Albi.
The activities
On the Causses or in the Gorges de l’Aveyron,
it's not the sporting activities that are missing: walking,
hiking, horse riding, or cycling, on the GR 36 and GR 46,
or on the local paths ;

free flying – paragliding
or hang-gliding – on several sites ;
Mountain climbing, for beginners and experienced climbers
(8C);

canoë-kayak, on the Gorges de l’Aveyron ;

la spéléologie, dans une région où
272 grottes sont répertoriées.
Bien entendu, vous pourrez pratiquer ces activités
librement. Mais si vous débutez, vous pourrez compter
sur un encadrement local qualifié pour chacune de ces
disciplines.
